Checklist for preparing property for a photoshoot
Use a checklist based on your property type and if these tips apply to you

  • Park vehicles away from the house, and kindly ask neighbors not to park in front of your property.
  • Mow the lawn and tidy up the yard.
  • Remove children’s or pet toys.
  • Hide garden hoses.
  • Arrange outdoor furniture and open umbrellas.
  • Open the pool and jacuzzi. Make sure they are clean. Remove inflatable toys and float rings.
  • Remove BBQ covers.
  • Hide trash cans.
  • Clean windows and glass doors.

  • Remove all signs of pets.
  • Replace burnt-out light bulbs.
  • Hide electrical cords and cables.
  • Put away remotes and chargers.
  • Clean the surfaces from dust.
  • Vacuum carpets and mop the floors.
  • Prepare gas fireplaces for use.
  • Remove holiday and seasonal decorations.
  • Take down personal touches (family photos, diplomas, letters, etc.).

  • Add decorative elements like flowers or candles.
  • Remove extra chairs that don’t fit.

  • Put away all dishes, dish soap, sponges, and cleaning tools.
  • Clear countertops of clutter and small appliances.
  • Remove fridge magnets, notes, and photos.
  • Wipe down cabinets, countertops, and appliances.
  • Sweep or mop the kitchen floor.

  • Make the beds and fluff the pillows.
  • Clear nightstands and dressers of clutter.
  • Collect and remove any laundry.
  • Tidy up closets—they might be photographed.
  • Secure valuables like jewelry, watches, and safes.

  • Remove all items from countertops.
  • Clean mirrors, glass, and surfaces.
  • Clear out showers and bathtubs.
  • Remove trash cans, plungers, and similar items.
  • Hang fresh towels.
  • Ensure there’s toilet paper in the dispenser.
